San Pedro Art Association will be showing member artwork at the Croatian Cultural Center, 510 West 7th Street, San Pedro. There will be music -- come out and jam with "The Delaminators."

FREE GUIDED ARTWALK TOUR
Each month the Artwalk tour starts at 6:30, meeting at the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce, 390 W. 7th Street, and follows a different itinerary. To receive monthly tour information by email, contact FirstthursdaySPtour@gmail.com. Following the one hour tour, visitors have an opportunity to see other galleries, shop, eat and enjoy the music and ambiance that fill the streets on First Thursday.

SKETCH CLASS Sat. June 16 , 10 AM to 2 PM
ALL MEMBERS and FRIENDS: Make Fathers Day Extra Special! Come join us on the Port Boardwalk. Bring a 5 X 8 inch sketch book (Strathmore, for example) or larger, a 2HB pencil, a Sharpie pen (fine), a box of colored pencils (Crayola brand OK), a pencil sharpener, and a stool or something to sit on. We will meet at the Ports O Call gallery for a brief meeting and demo before starting off. Class fee $20.00 paid to San Pedro Art Association.

Art is an expression of the spirit. In order to create great art and a great life, you must learn how to connect with that spirit, trust it, and maintain that inspiration in the face of life's challenges and rewards. We use theatrical exercises which model life skills as well as the safe environment that fosters creative expression to set the stage for artistic technique in drawing and painting. We therefore teach empowerment through the teaching of art.
Weekly 2 hour classes. $30 per class for adults 20 and over, $20 for age 12-19. Call for scheduling 310.831.3400.

2011 Student Art Awards
The San Pedro Art Association presented awards for artistic excellence to two students at Dana Middle School in San Pedro.
Wendy Sanchez
Wendy Sanchez has been chosen for the San Pedro Art Award because of her outstanding artistic ability. Whether it was sketching, painting, design work, or paper cutting, Wendy was able to master each assignment with a high degree of creativity and talent. With her versatile style and unlimited imagination, her final artwork was always a delight to behold.
Andres Ramirez
Andres Ramirez is creative, talented, and possesses his own unique style of art. With his outstanding color sense and eye for design, he can create artwork that can instantly catch the viewer’s attention. He is a natural artist, with the ability to render, design, and create instinctively with ease. Andres’s artistic ability, creativity, and finesse have earned him this award.
